The Pet Planet

Welcome to the Pet Planet!  Why adopt a pet? For many reasons: companionship, love, fun, responsibility and perhaps a better sense of self and improved health along the way.

Owning a pet can lower a person's blood pressure. They can relax you by watching them play or stroking their fur. They can decrease the recuperation time of sick patients by giving them something to ease their pain and to look forward to. Pets are now often brought in to children’s hospitals and elderly homes to boost moral.

Watching playful pets can give you a great mood boost after a hard day and make you smile and laugh. If you long for someone to take care of and to be loved by they can fill that need as well. They can help you get exercise and play with you as well.

It is a proven fact that pet owners live longer than non-pet owners, plus pets help teach responsibility to kids.

If you are interested in adopting the animals in the photos, or any of the other animals available at the CCSPCA, please contact them via the contact info listed below.

132252 + 129062 Duchess and Meena.
These two have just come back from a very loving foster home. They were not big enough to go up for adoption, so they were given a chance for a good life by going home with a foster. We need to keep our foster homes hopeful that they will find homes, so they can continue on with their lifesaving work! They are both about 2 months old, both female, both adorable and sweet. They both have short hair and Duchess is all white, while Meena is the Torti. Please come meet them at the shelter or stop by our Fresno Fair booth.

131758
Noir is a striking young boy, probably a Lab mixed with Collie. He is already neutered, he did come in as a stray, that was not reclaimed. He loves to talk to you, so that you will come into his cage and love on him.
He is just so handsome you can't help but to stop when you are walking down the cage isle. We don't know a lot about him, we do know he likes to sit on command, he is polite at the gate, he would respond well with training, he needs a home.

132253 Alice is just too much cuteness all rolled into one small kitten, with a long coat of fur. Her many colors make her just fun to watch fly across the floor playing! She is about 10 weeks old, a Calico with long pretty hair. She is all of the splendid kitten qualities you could wish for! Please consider adopting a cat or kitten, our adoptions are way down, and their lives depend on good homes.

116736 Rambo Lane. Listeners and readers may feel like we are saying the same thing over and over. Well we are, more and more families are loosing their homes, having to move, having to give up their animals because of where they have to relocate to. This is the story for our big sweet BUBBA boy Rambo Lane. He is a Golden Retriever mix, about 2 years old, great personality, smile, good with his older sister who he came in with, just another amazing boy looking for a home. He has the best wiggle that starts when he greets you and then involves his whole body, and connects with his
smile!

131501 George is a handsome young male cat, about 1 year old. He was turned in for being too curious about the new baby in the house. He is already neutered and we will give him a micro chip to go home with. He is sweet, inquisitive, gentle, fun, and a big boy. He loves to reach around and play with the kittens in the cage next to him. I think he just loves to check stuff out. Please consider adopting, we have so many already spayed and neutered cats and kittens that are just fabulous!

131662 Lexi is a large sweet Labrador mix, about 4 and a half years old. She was turned into the shelter because her family was going to be evicted. She is house trained (remember to re house train in your own house), she gets along with other animals, she loves to go on walks, she loves to play, she loves to swim, she is just the right match for someone looking for love in all the right activities. She is already spayed and micro chipped and will be a reduced adoption rate because those things were done the first time she was adopted from the shelter as a puppy.

Hello, well Frisky did get adopted so we have another fluffy smaller dog this week. Tiger is still here and he is in trouble. We have so many adult cats, and they all need a chance, if someone would adopt Tiger, they would not only save him, they would give another cat a chance.

77830 Lady is just sweet, gentle, talkative, and yes a senior at the age of 7. Her gaurdian was elderly too and could no longer take care of her. Please look into her eyes and come in to adopt her. She has many of our staff in love with her. She does get along with other dogs. We hope she gets adopted quick, she just loves to love on you. If she is still here on Saturday we will take her with us to Scottish Games at Roeding Park!

6696 Yes Tiger has a low number in our computer system. He was adopted along time ago, neutered microchipped and then somehow lost, back at the shelter, never reclaimed...now up for adoption...AGAIN. We are seeing so much of this, animals microchipped, spayed or neutered, going through looking for a home for a second time, sometimes a third time. He is a cool cat, he is al large orange tabby male, adult. He is mellow, and likes to relax, especially with his friends and family. Please keep coming in to adopt, someone here needs you!

126691 Frisky is just too much of a cute ragamuffin for words! He is a young adult poodle mixed with terrier. We are seeing so many fluffy small breeds coming in. Poodles, Shih Tzu's, Terriers, any thing that you can imagine. Our designer breeds are from the inside out. They are sweet, cuddly, kissable, lovable, talented, unjudgemental, forever companions. Most of the time they are just as gorgeous on the outside. Spend time getting to know their personalities before making that lifetime commitment. Looks or breed alone do not make a long great relationship. Frisky is all that you could want in a snuggle bug, inside and out!

128795 Smokey, He is a wonderfully big neutered 8 year old male cat. One of those that has the hardest time finding another home! Most adopters look for kittens, or younger females. He is box trained, he does like to be groomed, he keeps to himself here, probably only because it is a shelter environment and he has always been in a home. Please consider our great male cats, they are affectionate, cuddly, lap warmers that should have a family to share with.

89941 Daisy, She is in all honesty, most likely, an escape artist. She came in like so many of the great Huskies that we see here, as a lost/stray! She is already spayed, about 5 years old, she is microchipped, however no one came in to reclaim her. We can help you with training to keep them home and safe, also we can share a great resource for Husky proofing your back yark.
Please share with other people that we always have Huskies here and they need great homes that understand them.

127979 Ellie is a beautiful big ball of loveliness. She is probably Maine Coon mixed with a bit of Domestic Medium Hair. She is 3 and a half years old, and has always lived inside. She is box trained and just loves to sit on a lap while being petted. She is one of our many gorgeous adult cats that are already spayed, and good to go home today. She is at a reduced adoption rate too.

55508 Davey has one of those lower computer numbers because he has been through the shelter before. He is a Cocker Spaniel and Golden Retriever. He is still very young, only about a year and a half. He has quite a story. He was found as a puppy at a wedding, brought in, adopted, returned because the family had to move, then adopted again, then returned because they had no time to spend with him. He is smart and would make a great family dog. He was left outside mostly at his last home, and that is just no fun. He will do great with more training, and he is just so handsome.

122544 Satin.
He is one of the many breeds that you would be surprised that they end up at a shelter. Satin is a Scottish Terrier, and just too handsome as well as cute for words. He is about 2 to 3 years old, he has been neutered by our Surgery Annex, so he can go home today. He gets along with other dogs, is gentle as you enter their cage, and he lets you pick him up.
He prefers to go outside to go to the restroom. He almost looks as though he visited a salon to have the red color put into his beard hair! He is stylin to say the least!!!

(This is the cat for Makani!)

125625 Lionel
He is all Persian, and all fluff and fur of white. His eyes stand out, and make you feel like you should stay for a long conversation with him. He just seems wise beyond his years. He is an adult, and he did come in as a stray, so we don't know that much about him. We do know that he will be neutered and microchipped when he goes home, so that he  can get back home should he wonder, or be picked up by someone. He has a long coat that needs to be groomed regularly. He seems to be somewhat quiet and reserved. He is just fun to spend time with.

They are all spayed and ready to go home today. They all look different. She is just so sweet and too cute. She will need to be groomed on a regular basis. Remember we will help with training ect.

117562 Pepples
is making a return! She is still looking for a home! She did get a cold and had to be treated. Now she is teenage size, but still has her kitten playful attitude. She loves to jump on your shoulder and just be with you. She is adventurous and a "Leader of the Band" Come in and see her stuff.

Hello, we are featuring Mugwai again because they are special fosters that went back into foster for a bit and now are back again looking for a great home. BC is still at the shelter, and Tarzan from last week was adopted!

122742 Spike Too many dogs so I ended up at CC/SPCA so come and meet me, you will fall in love with me. I'm only 1 years old, I'm calm, friendly, high energy, shy they gave me away because they can't afford to keep me. I have a cute somewhat sideways smile, I do get along with other dogs, and the volunteers here love me!!! I am a terrier so I would prefer to be indoors with you, and look forward to a great job like an evening walk with you too!

112324 Mugwai ~ She looks like a gremlin so that's how she got her name. She is a foster kitten that is now back because she can go through surgery to be spayed. She is very playful and lovable. She was raised with her sibblings and likes to have fun with them. She is about 10 weeks old, and quite a little purr box.
